Access to reliable printing and copying facilities has long been a challenge for schools in Noupoort, a gap that has directly affected the quality and consistency of teaching, assessment, and administration. To address this need, three local schools have now each received a printer, donated by Noupoort Wind Farm, in a targeted effort to remove a persistent barrier to effective teaching.
The printers were recently delivered to Enoch Mthetho High School, Ikhwezi Lokusa Primary School, and Noupoort Combined School, following ongoing engagement with School Governing Bodies, who consistently raised limited access to printing as a barrier to effective school operations. Without reliable on-site facilities, educators were often forced to rely on external service providers to produce examination papers, worksheets, study materials, and essential administrative documents, a process that led to delays, added costs, and unnecessary disruptions to teaching and learning.
“This generous support will greatly assist us in improving the administration and preparation of learning materials for our learners and teachers. This donation will contribute positively to the smooth running of our school activities. We truly appreciate the commitment and willingness to support education in our community,” said Ms N.G. Somi, Principal of Ikhwezi Lokusa Primary School.
With printers now in place, schools are better equipped to produce learning materials on demand, reducing delays, cutting costs, and freeing educators to focus their energy on teaching. Learners, in turn, gain improved access to quality resources that directly support their academic progress and performance.
“The donation forms part of our broader commitment to socio-economic development, with a strong focus on improving access to quality education. By investing in essential resources, we aim to remove barriers that hinder academic delivery and support better educational outcomes across the community,” said Salzonia Raman, Social Performance Officer for Noupoort Wind Farm.
